The frontier is open between her work as a producer and as a filmmaker.

Sophie Venecia Reyes is described by the industry insiders as "one to watch" in the growing world of female talent. Her films, including "October 9th" and "NO NOS CALLARÁN! , have been celebrated at prestigious festivals Cannes Short Film Corner, also Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, Beverly Hills FF, to name a few and have even qualified for Cesar awards. "NO NOS CALLARÁN!" earned the Special Jury Remi Award at the 54th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival, showcasing her multifaceted talent as a writer, actress, director, editor, and producer.

Working very close with several charities organizations,  it's with her first short film OCTOBER 9th, which was presented at the Cannes Film Festival (Sort Film corner), allowed her to begin to develop a SOLIDARITY BASED, POSITIVELY ENGAGED CINEMA, associating her films with accompanying charity actions during events including We love Green Festival.

She has been creative ever since she was a child. Self-taught and impassioned, she is an artist at heart.

She grew up in a small village in the South of France with a father who was a Spanish immigrant, a creative and self-taught farmer, as well as a French mother who was a biology professor, musician and also a farmer. She was lucky enough to grow up influenced by the richness of their differences.  Ever since, She had always been connected to nature, and learned naturally to develop her instinct and listen her inner voice, which has always been a precious key to my professional and personal evolution.

Her background - A former gymnast, and driven by an athletic character, she loves to take on new challenges! An accident puts an end to her career as a sportswoman; she then turned to her other passions. She began a personal process to find who she really was. Her journey began with an early love for design, leading her to launch her couture fashion brand, SOPHIE REYES, in 2007. As a fashion designer and artistic director, she quickly made her mark on the international stage, showcasing her collections in Paris, Dubai, and New York, and presenting her vision during high-profile events like the Cannes International Film Festival. Her brand became synonymous with elegance, offering couture and high-end ready-to-wear pieces that blended artistry and craftsmanship, including her signature “K-Meleon” dress, a symbol of her transformative philosophy.

Beyond fashion, Sophie’s creativity extended to collaborations with the 7th Art, enriching her cinematic ties and expanding her artistic horizons. By 2019, she pivoted her brand toward slow fashion, aligning her work with her ikigai—the Japanese concept of finding purpose through meaningful work.

In parallel, she trained as an actress with the American coach Jack Waltzer, lifelong member of the Actors Studio, while reinforcing her knowledge of the production terrain and training in screenwriting, editing and camera at the Ecole de l’Image des Gobelins in Paris. Accompanied by her mentor Peter MacDonald, English producer and renowned second unit director (Harry Potter, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Wolverine…), she has performed numerous technical positions, allowing her to have experienced the complexity of all aspects of film shooting.

In 2021, She was selected to participate in a Mentoring program sponsored by Netflix (Producer - Director - Actress) with the Collectif 50/50 which works for gender equity in the audio-visual sector.

The principles of IKIGAI guided her to find her balance.

With an equal passion for both creativity and business, Sophie quit Cinefeelprod and saw her departure as an opportunity to connect these two worlds by creating her own production company, INSIDE US FILMS, whose ambition is enshrined in Cinema - Creativity - Charity - Connection what she calls the 4C's, following the principles of Ikigai which is the Japanese equivalent of the concept of the “joy of living”, or “life purpose”. With a long experience of engagement in the field of charity associations, her principal aim is to develop prolific cinema with an impact, working hand in hand with foundations, charity associations, philanthropists and engaged citizens. This approach allows her to actively engage in causes she deeply cares about and inspire significant change. Each project incorporates the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its impact campaign, promoting a better and more sustainable future.

She devotes her efforts to participate in projects that are meaningful - True Stories, Education, the Environment, Indigenous, Sustainable Agriculture, Sports, Women and Children’s Rights, Rights of the Homeless - all these are key themes exposed in the films in which she is involved. She loves using her voice to inspire positive changes through Cinema with an impact.

In addition to her creative endeavors, Sophie is a sought-after speaker at prestigious international events and film festivals like the World Economic Forum, Climate Week in NYC, and the Venice Film Festival. Her participation in panels and master classes further solidifies her influence in the industry and her commitment to using her voice for positive change.

In 2023, she was a jury of the Features Competition at 26th Religion today film Festival (Italy).

She is ready to direct an environmental sci-fi called ERRA and an engaged feature film documentary called ACT EARTH.
